Who writes the health information on this website, who checks it, and what we will never do.
Health information online is easy to publish and hard to trust. This page tells you exactly how the content on this website is produced, so you can judge it for yourself rather than taking our word for it.
Clinical content on this website is reviewed by Dr. Rahman Mohammed, MD, Medical Director at Arlington ER. He is a board-certified physician serving hospitals and medical centers throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
Our reviewer checks that the content reflects current medical guidance, that symptoms and treatments are described correctly, and that nothing could mislead you about when to seek emergency care.
Pages that have been reviewed carry a line at the bottom naming the reviewer and the date of the most recent review.
We base our health content on established, authoritative sources, including:
Where we state a fact or a figure, we link to the original source so you can read it yourself.
This is the part most emergency room websites leave out. Several pages on this site say plainly that an urgent care clinic or your own physician would cost you less and serve you just as well for a particular problem.
We would rather give you the honest answer than take a visit you did not need. An emergency room is the right place for a genuine emergency, and the wrong place for a great many other things.
Medical guidance changes. We review clinical content regularly and refresh it at least once a year, or sooner when new research or guidance appears. Each reviewed page shows the date of its most recent review.
If something on this website looks inaccurate or out of date, we want to hear about it. That includes clinicians. If you are a physician, a nurse, or a pharmacist and you see something here you would not have written, please tell us.
Email info@arlingtoner.com or call 817-973-7406, and we will look into it promptly.
The content on this website is general information and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It does not create a physician–patient relationship. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or come to the nearest emergency room.
